Governance Risk Compliance (GRC)

Introduction

Program Summary:

The regulatory environment for commercial organizations and financial institutions is becoming increasingly complex and unpredictable. To adapt, these entities must be agile, forward-looking, and risk sensitive. Compliance with international GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) standards is now mandatory, especially given the extraterritorial impact of certain laws. Building a sound corporate governance structure is essential to mitigate regulatory and sanctions risks, which can lead to severe penalties, reputational harm, and loss of value. Sanctions significantly impact international trade and supply chains, making it crucial for companies to assess counterparty risks, identify dual-use goods, and establish robust risk management frameworks. Corporations must adopt resilient GRC principles and foster a “think-risk” culture led by their board of directors. This course will equip attendees with tools and insights to protect their institutions by staying current on GRC best practices. Topics include governance models, international sanctions regimes, KYC processes, ESG principles, UBO identification, green finance risks, geopolitical risk assessment, boardroom optimization, anti-bribery measures, whistleblowing policies, conflict of interest policies, and more.
