The Corporate Secretary Program is offered by the Institute for Finance and Governance (IFG) in partnership with Tamayyaz. This program, is designed to cover the full spectrum of a Corporate Secretary’s Role, functions, and responsibilities, which are at the core of an organization’s governance structure and practices, to clarify the potentially expansive duties of corporate secretaries and enhance their skills; and to emphasize the corporate secretaries’ role in developing good corporate governance practices in their organization, informed by internationally recognized standards of good practice, drawing on examples from both developed and emerging markets.
Program Structure:
Part (I): Overview
Introducing Participants to the Role of the Corporate Secretary, the value of having an in-house Corporate Secretary, and describing their key responsibilities as a governance professional.
Part (II): Governance Compliance
Training participants on the system of delegation, board composition and succession planning, board evaluations, tools for managing more effective and dynamic board meetings, and the corporate secretary’s role in supporting the board for the purpose of protecting shareholders rights.
Part (III): Activities and Case Studies
Interactive session of case studies and exercises facilitated by international consultants and covering the subject matters addressed in parts 1 and 2 of the program.
